Law Office of Joshua A. Burt

The Law Office of Joshua A. Burt today filed in Orange County Superior Court a lawsuit against Brystan Studios for the appropriation of a client’s likeness (a violation of a person’s right to publicity), fraud, infliction of emotional distress, and unfair competition.  The complaint alleges that Brystan Studios, a photographic studio, took a picture of a client and, without permission or a release, published the photograph in an advertisement for Brystan Studios in a prominent magazine.  The Plaintiff is seeking damages for emotional trauma and the destruction of her business.  Plaintiff’s own clients saw the image and terminated their professional relationship as a result.
