Burt Legal Files Lawsuit against Sunner Investments, LLC for Breach of Contract, Fraud, and Unfair Competition.

The Law Office of Joshua A. Burt filed a lawsuit today against Sunner Investments, LLC, Surinder S. Sunner, and Harpreet K. Sunner for breach of contract, fraud, wrongful eviction, unfair business practices, and other related claims.  The complaint alleges that Sunner Investments and its owners sold their interest in a convenience store even though they never had the intention to actually transfer the business and its property to Plaintiffs. The complaint further alleges that Defendants conspired to and did take back the business and failed to return any of the purchase money or the money Plaintiffs’ invested in the business. Plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages in excess of $1,000,000.00 in addition to punitive damages.

Burt Legal Files Lawsuit against Vahe Aftandilian for Fraud, Breach of Contract, and Deficiency Judgment

The Law Office of Joshua A. Burt filed a lawsuit today against Vahe Aftandilian for fraud, breach of contract, and for a deficiency judgment.  The complaint alleges that Vahe Aftandilian sold a portion of his car wash business by enticing an investor using falsified profit and loss statements. It further alleges that Vahe Aftandilian failed to make payments to this investor as required by a property mortgage. The complaint also alleges that, after the property was foreclosed upon by a third party, Vahe Aftandilian failed to pay the investor the remaining amount due on the property loan. Plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages and a deficiency judgment totaling at least $1,650,000.00 and punitive damages.

Burt Legal Files Suit Against Vahe Aftandilian for Fraud

The Law Office of Joshua A. Burt filed an adversarial proceeding (the bankruptcy court’s version of a lawsuit) today against Vahe Aftandilian to prevent him from obtaining the discharge of debts he incurred through fraud.  The complaint alleges that Mr. Aftandilian created false profit and loss statements and provided inaccurate proofs of environmental certificates when negotiating the partial sale of a car wash business to the Plaintiff in the case.   The Complaint also alleges, that Mr. Aftandilian also committed breaches of fiduciary duty, embezzlement, and larceny.  As a result, the Plaintiff contends that he was defrauded out of $1.65 million from his family trust account.  The Complaint seeks reimbursement for the lost $1.65 million, interest, punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, and costs
